Cystitis is defined as the inflammation of the bladder and may have numerous causes:

• Bacterial
• Stress
• Urinary calculi
• Neoplasias or polyps
• Glycosaminoglycans - GAG's

The most common causes of this
inflammation vary according 
to the species, gender and age.

In the case of cats when compared
to dogs and humans, cystitis is more
common when the cats are less than 10 years old
